STRIKE WORKSHOP!!!

On Monday 28th, at 2:30 pm my class walked to the MPLC. We had to wait for Room 7  and Room 2.  All of a sudden loud noises like boom and bang went off! One noise was so loud I had to cover my ears. Moments later at 2 pm the two other class strolled out chatting and bragging all about it. As the other class, Room 5, sat down on the mat, Katie joined us. She played beat after beat. We had to follow the beat and I think that I nailed it. After some time Murray came in. We played 'Little boy, big boy'. It was great. It went on for 25 minutes but it felt like 2 hours. Next the bell rang and everybody raced to the classroom but I stayed back and helped tidy up. Then I picked up a notice and ran as fast as I could to the car.

Ride On!

A few days ago, some people from Ride On came to our school to teach us all the important things we all have to know about riding our bikes and keeping us safe. We all went into different groups with different classmates.

The first thing we all did was a helmet check. We put two fingers below our helmet, two fingers between our helmet straps and our cheek and two fingers between our chin. We had to make sure our helmets fit perfectly or else they'll be too tight or loose.

Secondly, we checked our bikes to see if we had flat tires or any unusual things. Then we did the 'M' check. The 'M' check was also to see if we had any unusual things or any flat tires.

The next thing we did was L.S.M. It stands for Look, Signal, Move. It is when you look behind you (just in case), you signal for the cars behind you and then you move.

Soon after, we learnt how to stop safely when there is something in front of our bikes and we are about to run over them. Room 3 enjoyed it so much! We really wish that they would come back again!

STRIKE!!! Monday 28 May

At 8:50 in the morning the whole school went to the Strike Performance at Broadgreen Intermediate and listened to their drums and watched their fire play. First we sorted out where the classrooms were going to sit. After finding where to sit, we sat quietly and waited for the Strike Performance to begin. Roughly about 5 minutes later three people came out and introduced themselves to us. Their names were Hannah, Murray and Katy. They did their first song that I think was called 'Terror'. Then after a couple more songs they started to ask volunteers to come up and have a go at beating the drums. They asked the school to tell them what teacher should go up and play the drums. Most people voted Ms Campbell and Mr Canning. Hannah called Ms Campbell 'Wonder Woman' and Mr Canning 'Superman'. So then they played the drums and to be honest it was pretty funny. After that I think it was the fire play. The fire play was dangerous but cool at the same time. Then they did a couple more songs until that finally finished. We all lined up then headed back to school to get on working.
